Possum wants a new camera which will take better photos than her mobile phone and allow her to do videos she can edit afterwards.
She's looking at a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX90 and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ57 and I don't know enough to decide whether the former is worth the extra price tag.
From a quick look at various comparative benchmarks of those 2 cameras, the Sony DSC-HX90 is definitely a much better camera. If you can afford it, then go for it!
How lucky you are to have that splendid butterfly (Papilio machaon) on your budlejas! That species is getting very rare indeed in my part of France (Brittany) although I occasionally come across their caterpillars in my garden.
Interesting combination of weeds and dragonfly exuvia. If you are interested in the actual "metamorphosis", I have put together a small sideshow on my photo site here: http://www.rezeau.org/wp-photo/en/downy-emerald/
Love that butterfly Busy. We had the caterpillars on our fennel in 2007 - took photos - but haven't seen any since or the butterflies and I grow fennel every year just in case.

I am a rubbish photographer but really enjoy all your pictures, have to say I don't feel at all disrupted just green with envy. I am inclined to video as it is more forgiving and I enjoy the movement, so my pictures are stills from video usually. Would not dare to put any on this thread
Obelixx, given my v amateur status and shaky filming I have been using Sony handycams for nearly 20 years now. Apart from the irritating way they insist all accessories must be Sony they have been very good to me over the years. Currently using HDR-CX405 but continue to use both previous models as backups, first one bought in 1996 is a bit clunky in comparison hence the upgrade.

@Jacqueline29,
Some very colourful pictures, those latest photos of yours. Are they taken with a smartphone?

Honey bees have made a nest in an old fallen Eucalyptus. We dont disturb them - let them enjoy the fruits of their labour over winter.
a baby hare hiding under the Thyme hedge.
I'm told this is a Muslim cat. No offence intended, but I thought it was a clever caption.
What lovely green eyes!
Thanks Papi Joe.

Your cat photo made me laugh, Pat!
What sort of caterpillar is that, on the eucalyptus? Striking purple tufty bits...
Pat - is that your son's cat ? The baby hare
