I'm just a happysnapper so my photos are more likely to be on garden photo threads. But here is a rose from a garden that I visited with my daughter and the view from a bedroom window in my daughter's new house, just because I think they are pretty.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Pat - Sheps puts us all to shame - have you looked back at all his other pix? We're all in awe of his skills and equipment. Lets say he's slightly more 'professional' than the rest of us...
Wish David would come back though...missing him on this thread in particular
nut - you're being very modest
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I would just like to say thank you to all of you who have either emailed or PMd me, asking for me to return. However, let me make it clear, I never said I was quitting, I just needed a break from the monumental cock-up that the techie team has made of changes it has made to the forum.
As for this thread it's self, I have to say I'm really pleased by how it's evolved. For me, Pat put it in a nutshell when she said "Love all the photos. I can admire the ones that are technically very fine, but I also like the snap shots." ......all peeps efforts should be welcome, whatever your level of photographic expertise.
I agree totally that Shep's pics are stunning. Although they are taken with equipment costing more than the available funds of most of us and it has to be remembered, they still require much skill and boundless patience to achieve.
I'm also hugely impressed with the pics posted by Guernsey Donkey of late. She visited this thread, seeking advice on buying a camera, she obviously took on board what was suggested and is taking some fantastic shots with a moderately priced camera.
Finally, I would just like to say that recently I spotted a blackbird's nest with youngsters about to fledge. All I had with me was a small pocket camera (Nikon Coolpix L27) so it had to do......I'll post the pic directly after this and you will see that you can snap some worthwhile shots with a moderately priced camera.

Oh Sheps - that's just fabulous....deeply jealous!
The detail you get with your camera is astonishing.
I've just recommended this thread to someone who has started a wildlife pic thread.
I didn't get walking this weekend again due to rubbish weather. Any pix would have looked like this...

That's a bit thick Fairy.
The sun came out here today and with it, the hoverflies
In the sticks near Peterborough
Scotch mist nut...
last August...lovely summer weather. Well it was...a bit lower down the hill....
I love that pic nut. Wish you'd take more and bung them on here

A good pic from me is more by luck than skill Fairy

Aym, Logan sent some photos for you on the Garden Pictures thread.
Hi everyone
