Today I walked to the shops by the long route, which takes 50 minutes, rather than by the direct, down-the-steps-and-along-the-road, route (6 minutes). I didn't think to take my camera so these "snaps" are taken using my Samsung Galaxy A3 mobile phone.
The sheep in this field seem to have been replaced by daisies & buttercups.
Not sure if the above works really... It was one of those days when I often seemed to be grovelling under hedges to take my photos.
Pennine barn
This almost went abstract because of the limitations of the "point & shoot" phone camera. Kind of weird but I think I like it...
This is Stoodley Pike monument - local landmark.
Back down in the valley opposite Morrison's - the Rochdale canal.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Gorgeous shots Liri. As already said - well worth the longer route! The new cameras are really good for pix though. Particularly like the monument. Nicely composed
I've never visited the Fairy Pools B'man - I suppose I should since they're named after me....
I did sit Lesley - on the big shelf! There was plenty of choice for big rock slabs to sit on though - water levels are so low
The view back up the hill from it wasn't bad either
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thanks Yarrow & Fairy. Yes, we are enjoying the new camera - we are still using the automatic settings at present until we have had more time to read the manual - all 187 pages of it! There is no rush & OH is still working full time and it really is his camera.
I can imagine the peace and tranquility of this stunning area Fairy - after spending a short time in Switzerland - high up in the mountains - just you and the surroundings - it was like nothing else I have ever experienced, pure escape.
First try at posting photos on the new format forum so hope it works OK.
A local landmark for you, the lupin field next to the 12thC St Peter's Church, Terwick near Rogate in West Sussex. The field was given to the National Trust in 1939 by Mrs Jane Patterson Hodge (a Titanic survivor) in memory of her husband, Thomas.
Steephill what lovely summery images and a poignant story to go with them. MI love lupins and we used to have a bing (slagheap) near here covered with them. Eventually they all reverted to blue and then disappeared completely. They must be special down there.

Fairy those pools in you picture remind me of the fairy pools on skye.

What a lovely walk to the shops Liri
Well worth taking the long route.
Beautiful Liri
. Your 'phone takes very clear pictures.
Thanks, Joyce & Lesley - yes, it's a lovely walk. And I chose my phone partly because it has a reasonably decent camera.
