That's a lovely picture Sheps - the detail is so good - assuming that was taken with the camera shown far above. We have a couple of kingfishers in a salt/fresh water pond nearby but they are rarely seen let alone photographed. However when we were camping alongside the River Tarn in France these birds were darting about all over the river, even with canoeists and campers often passing nearby.
Gorgeous Sheps. There's no doubt the quality of the camera helps with such a detailed subject!
There's one (or two maybe) that hangs around the burn near where I work but I don't go round that bit really. I suppose I should, because it's apparently there a lot. Would be nice to get a pic if possible.
Hope you find a suitable camera GD. Mine was under £100, reduced from about £140. I know Hostafan got a good one recently too - don't know if David can remember which one it was. Mine is a bit heavier than my old one but I'm used to it now. I wondered if I'd made a mistake and should have got one of the small ones - just because it's all extra weight to lug up hills, but I think it was worth it for the better zoom and features.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I couldn't get the quote to work properly either David.
Here's a few from yesterday's walk on Beinn a Chrulaiste at the entrance to Glencoe, opposite Buchaille Etive Mor (The Bookil as it's affectionately known) Stob Dearg (it's main summit) is an iconic image of Scotland - used on everything from calendars to shortbread tins
Summit view with Stob Dearg in the centre, the Little Bookil ridge on the right of it, and Bidean Nam Bian furthest right. The two Munros of Meall a Bhuirdhe and Creise on the left.
Views across to Nevis and it's surrounding hills from the summit
Looking across Rannoch Moor to the Bridge of Orchy hills.
Stob Dearg from the road. The deep cleft in the middle is the route up. The summit just peeking out on the far right is the 2nd Munro on the ridge walk which also has two other minor tops.

Sheps...
I'd like someone to explain how I managed to get so many quotes in my last message.
