Not always. It seems to be related to being a sunny day. He/she usually comes in the afternoon when it's sunny, but today we had 33 degrees, so it was out there early. That is our back verandah and they often get under the freezer in winter to get warm.
Cranlan - I suppose you know that if you click on the actual photo, you get a more dramatic view and (as KEF says) using a camera using macro settings is the way to go.
KEF - Love that anemone, it too springs into life when you click on it.
