Oakridge, we used to have angoras as well. I love goats. They are much more everything than sheep.

ive still got lots of mohair to spin. Just need the energy to get going again.image

  • Hello Pat, we are wandering off topic a bit but no-one has growled - yet.  Mohair does deteriorate with time so if you have too much to cope with you could send it to next year's collection for sale.  Unfortunately you have missed this years collection by a month.  Did you see last year's prices in the Angora Goats flickr album?

No OakRidge, I don't follow prices. The mohair is just for us to use.  My spell checker doesn't like your name , so don't be surprised what comes out. image

  • Pat. Christine sold her spinning wheel and loom because other things overtook her so we know the feeling.  Oakridge was the name of our smallholding but we have only retained 1.25 acres.

Sorry Malcolm, I didn't mean to offend with my comment about my stupid spell checker, it drives me crazy. I can't tell you how many time I tried to get you name through. If you don't mind I'll just do what I can with oakrodge.  image

We are on 100 acres, but not running any livestock nowadays. But we loved having the angoras. They loved being in the back of our place in the rough bush Scrub,  being grazers rather than browsers. We leave it to the kangaroos, wallabies and wombats now.

early morning shearing. No indoor shearing shed for us. Sadly that fellow who used to do our shearing away away last year - he was a lovely gentle man and never cut them. These photos are now about 20 years ago.

    Love those Pat image

Always love to see your landscapes too GD.

Oakridge - it would be nice if you could put some of your pix directly on here too. It's good to see photos 'directly' if you know what I mean!

There's been some beautiful moons and skies here in the last few days. I've managed to get a few

  • Pat I was certainly not offended by your spellchecker's struggle with the name - they are a pain.  Your animals looked really good.

Fairygirl my eyesight is pretty poor - bad enough to be on the blind register - so the less fiddling about I have to do the better.  I will have a go though.  Are there some destructions on how to add them somewhere?

Sorry about that Malcolm - my Dad struggled too, in his later years.

If you click on the camera icon at the top right of the box for replying, it'll bring up a fiel for the photos you have on your computer. The only issue just now is that you have to have them at around 1 or 2 MB for them to upload, so you may have to resize.  In the meantime, I'll check out your link  image

It was my reward for not getting out on a hill Joyce  image

Snow being forecast for later in the week - some on the higher ones just now- but hopefully I'll get out one day at the weekend.
