They're fantastic Sheps. Love the hoverfly too. The detail's amazing - the legs in particular are incredible.

We take insects of all kind for granted I think. I find these photographs fascinating to look at  image

Missed getting a walk today so I found some old ones of a walk on Buchaille Etive Beag from seven years ago

    Intricate detail again Sheps.

What type of fly is it?

The Buachille will probably have snow on the top soon Fairy.

Thanks very much, Fairy...and beautiful pictures once again image

Ta very much, Joyce, as to what species it is, I have no idea, but I know it likes to eat other flies.

It won't be far away Joyce. Nippy on the tops, even through the middle of the day, now.

There were a few little flurries on Ben Ledi last October when I was there.

  • I love our new little camera - but I do tend to turn a light shade of green when I see your fine detailed pictures Sheps - please keep them coming as we can all enjoy them and also Fairygirl - we love seeing that fantastic scenery - those immense spaces with not a soul in sight. Our outing today was good but the view pictures weren't particularly good.imageI think this was the best - rocky shore on the north of the island at dusk.

Beautiful GD. Rocks and sea - what's not to like?  Love the sky too  image`

This is just down the road from the last ones - the ridge between Meall a Bhuirdhe and Creise

  • I think I can see a building and perhaps a vehicle in the distance Fairy, but no other walkers - with such stunning views and good visibility why are there not more people out enjoying this?
