Weather was good for walking GD - a bit humid so lots of midges on the lower slopes, but cooler a bit higher up.  Lots of cloud moving in and out on the bigger summits though and Ben Ledi ( which is further west)  was completely shrouded in cloud. Unfortunately that was one of the photos that didn't come out well after pressing something ...image

The rock was stunning - there was another smaller piece with a lovely creamy stripe too. Quite random among all the granite etc  image

Hmm - someone with a huge gob - can think of one person who fits that description...image

Ooh - you're so good Sheps!  I couldn't get any closer without him flying off. I did think he was slightly different to a wheatear, but couldn't think of any other bird it could be. I didn't even think we got redstarts up here. Going to have to take you with me to get my birdwatching up to scratch  image

Sadly none next to the car when I parked today. Not even a lot of grouse - only a few giving me heart failure...  image

Ey up, Fairy...you keep posting the pictures, and I'll keep helping out with the ID's, but only if needed of course image

I bet your Grouse are keeping their heads down until after January image

Definite autumnal tints starting Fairy. Love it when the hills colour up image

Love it when you can ID anything so quickly. I'd love to spend a bit more time getting bird pix but I'd never get up any hills if I did   image

Never seen the rowans looking so 'full' Joyce. They're stunning. So many of them are 'traffic light' red too. There was a beauty coming back out the glen - easily forty foot and absolutely weighed down with rich red berries. Couldn't stop with it being a single track road unfortunately. image

Stunning again Fairyimage.  The first one should be on the front of the Visit Scotland brochures.

Very kind Lesley. I should have taken one on the way back down - and a bit nearer. It had brightened at lower level and the loch was glowing. There was a couple of people out water ski-ing. Lochearnhead itself was looking really pretty. image

Autumn colours already, Fairy... lovely, but it always seems to happen before we've had much in the way of summer.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

The horse chestnuts, in particular, are all very golden Liri. Beautiful though. It's my favourite time of year I think, as we often get better weather than in summer anyway!

Lots of leaves down already in some areas with the recent windy weather.

    Lovely photos yet again, Fairy.

This is the river we walked to last week, think I put it on chat thread. Also the sky a couple of days ago at sunset.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
