How kind of you David, thanks for your encouragement and Sheps and all the other lovely people who gave us advice and like the pictures we are taking. I do believe that you don't need expensive equipment to take good shots, just a good eye and being in the right place at the right time. We are having a lot of fun with the camera.
Your picture of the blackbirds is lovely and I am just listening to the evening song of our local blackbird now - in competition with the thrush. I love this time of the evening, less traffic noise and clearer bird song.
Hi David...the above was supposed to read as follows...the Pentax 100mm macro looks like a quality piece of glass and has received some great reviews on the web.
Buy it now!!!, you know you want to
I must admit, the quote process is really starting to bug me, why can't it just work, like on every other forum I visit?
Anyhoo, for those that like Dragonflies, here you go, a newly emerged Four-spotted Chaser

Sheps - I was interested to know that you used a Canon EF 100mm f2.8 macro lens for your exquisite dung fly shot.
I have on my wish list, a Pentax 100mm f2.8 macro lens, at around £600, it may have to wait a little while.
You never regret your extravagances David!
You may regret not having it but you will always love it!
David. Sorry to cheat by using this thread but I have posted a sweet pea question. Any chance you can help?
A A Milne
Not sure where the question is, Lily.....but have bumped-up the thread & will help of course.
I posted on it David - will find it for you
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Sheps...
Wow! Is that real? The detail is incredible. Sheps, your photo of the weasel is excellent.
I don't even try the quote thing Sheps. It was better before when you just had to go with it's quirky 'quote, unquote' method!
I think you need to produce a calendar Sheps. Wildlife of course, don't get any ideas about a Forum Members /Calendar Girls one....

He's a stunner, incidentally
Very polite about my 'mist'. It's not so good when you're stuck in it and you've lost sight of the path back down though....
