Very cold here in Manchester first thing this morning-2 . Ground frozen, bird baths frozen, it took 2 kettles of warm water to defrost them. Lots of birds, but the usual wood pigeons have taken most of food. I will go out again.
Lots of blackbirds up in the garden when i went up for pics so looks like they re going to build nests in the ivy thicket again. It is covered in luscious black berries for them at the moment. The weather is fiercely cold but the snowdrops in several varieties are scenting the air and the woodland floor is covered with bright blue periwinkles.
Hi Marion, lovely pictures there, it looks more like spring in your garden, the frost has killed most of my flowers over the last week apart from my Viola which is sheltered by our shrub, the sun has gone in now and going quite dull here.
We got the tun of stone raked out over the drive so just resting our muscles with a hot drink too : )
I have lots of species of snowdrops from ones which flower early December to ones that flower in late March ( a plicata one) so you may have a late flowering one. The tiny native one - Galanthus nivalis_ is just opening its buds with me.
Good evening everybody , snow drops just starting to come up and a few other bulbs but it the Frosts are hear , which stop things , still no snow , clear blue sky's again
Grass could do with cut ? Heared somebody today using lawn mower ? To wet in my opinion

Wow, so much in flower! Your snowdrops are making me wonder if I've lost mine
.
The hellebores are beautiful.

Flumpy that is such a pretty picture. Frost and snow is picturesque in the right place - the garden.
