It was lovely to meet you today Marion :) your garden is every bit as lovely as I'd imagined and then some! I came home from the allotment with more strawberries too :):)

i was very glad to see the rain this afternoon too! Very welcome rain indeed

Garden damp but we have not had much rain as no puddles anywhere.  A dull day forecast with rain late in the afternoon.  I am hoping to get out to pull up the large thistles which are now seeding.  A bit late to save another lot from coming next year I think.  I should save some time for weeding from not having to water anything except any that look a bit droopy still.

Letter post came early at 9 and my new pelargonium "Appleblossom"Rosebud plugs were in it. Just managed to get them potted up before the rain started.  It is very gentle rain but constant.  I am delighted with my plugs, one even has a flower in bud.  I will be watching that every morning now till I can get a picture.  My £25 Premium Bond prize from June 1st has certainly given me a lot of pleasure and will keep on giving.

A small duckpond on the patio this morning so more rain through the night than we had all day yesterday when it was almost always drizzle or very light rain.  The forecast for next week is rainy every day so will have to dash out in my raincoat whenever i can to get plants into the ground. It will keep the water bill down though.  There is always a silver lining!

Marion, it hasn't been so dry here since the hot summer of 1976 (I think that's the correct year)

There were a few hours of light drizzle yesterday evening. . . . over four weeks since a rainfallimage There are a few things still to be planted but I'm keeping them in pots at the back door as it's easier to keep them watered there.

One of the advantages of growing your new to you plants in ots first is you can decide which plants to team them wsith in advance.  i decided this morning this poppy should go beside Geranium "Rozanne"

Very wet outside though it is not raining at the moment but forecast for all day, some heavy showers expected in the morning so I had better stay near the house.  It stills feels warm and muggy though.  Some of the taller flowers are looking so droopy and bedraggled with petals strewing the paths.  Grrr.  Hardy geraniums recover first.  They are perky and so colourful at this time of year.

Oh my goodness the scents in my garden are superb after the rain.  Butterflies and bees everywhere.  The roses and honeysuckle seem to be winning in the perfume stakes but the bees love the pyracantha blossom.

Those are lovely, Marion - the honeysuckle must be lovely in the evening.  I used to have one around my front gate when I lived in Northumberland, and the scent just takes me back to a very happy home where my children grew up.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
