Yes Joyce I had to stick to the paths to do my ivy grubbing. Anne Ashberry has written a book on bottle gardening too so, as have an empty carboy I sent for that. I have a feeling some of my Xmas plants in the basket would be suitable for that. The book was only £5 in good condition and P&P free.
Just watched a pathe film on You Tube of Ann Ashberry making miniature gardens! It all starte because she only had a balcony but wanted a big garden. She used real plants - alpines for her miniature gardens. Very worth watching.
I've just been out to feed the birds to inspect the patio pots. Nearly all have the tips of bulbs showing, including the multi-headed hyacinths planted for the first time.
No baubles here Flumpy though I love yours but lots of flowers. My friend who came to dinner last night brought me lovely lilies in bud. It is beginning to look a lot like Xmas in my kitchen GWRS.

Back from the AGS Xmas party where I won three prizes in the raffle - flower arrangement, book and alpine fern. Here they are.
Lucky lady Marion.
Another interesting gardening book for you.
In my new book there is a list of plants suitable for a Grassless Alpine "Lawn"!
You will be itching to get started, Marion
