Very wet in Bristol this morning as forecast. On for all day too ans set to get very heavy rain later so looks as though my washing machine will be delivered in the dark and rain as my slot is 4pm til 5pm! Nevertheless it will receive a warm welcome. I have had an email to say it has been picked at the depot for dispatch. So Xmas cards it is.
Such a dark wet day it has been but I found a copy of Anne Ashbury's "Alpine Lawns" on ebay for £6.38 p. and p, free so my research can progress. Only another hour or so till my new washing machine arrives then it will be all systems go I hope.
Oh misery. My new washing machine is sitting in the middle of the kitchen - delivered but not fitted! The man said he could not turn off the water as I need a new blue tap. He said I would have to get a plumber in. The girl in the office said she would refund me the £20 fitting charge so I have emailed my plumber to see if he can send someone to do the necessary work, fit my new machine and take away the old one. I cannot do hand washing as my hands are too arthritic so may have to buy some new undies as I have a Xmas dinner and Xmas party to attend next week! Now I will have to try not to bump into the new machine and injure myself!
Commiserations Marion. My new fridge/freezer sat in the hall for a week until I got someone to fit it into the casing. I do hope your plumber gets you sorted out soon.
Yes , commiseration, hope your plumber gets it fitted soon
I had a good day in garden a bit more tidying up , garden bin half full , soil very soft was able to dig up dome plants that I had let self seed and have to many
It rained all day in Bristol and was so dark it seemed like night all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be drier. I hope so so I can get out in the garden and forget my woes and my congested kitchen.
Better weather today though a bit colder. With a bit of luck I should be able to sally forth into the garden and work to take my mind off my spare room full of dirty clothes and my congested kitchen. I may try to uncover more of the lost terraces - that is always exciting. If yo ever feel the need for an exciting gardening book get the Channel4 book on "the Lost Gardens of Heligan". I sat up till 2am reading that. It is enthralling.
Went out in my last "clean enough to wear jumper" - big mistake as the garden is soaking wet so it is now drying and I am wrapped in a blanket! The sun is shining though so after a cup of coffee I will don my old raincoat and go out and enjoy it again. All eight pairs of gardening gloves are very dirty but i am drying off a pair which I will bang against the kitchen wall outside to get the caked mud off. Nothing worth while is ever easy!

Mild and dry here Marion so will do a bit more clearing in the garden.
Your laundry can wait another day or two.
The bird feeders are getting emptied quickly just now but it's so enjoyable watching the various types of birds.

Wrap up warm and escape to the garden, Marion. It will focus your mind on better things.
There was overnight rain here so everything is a bit wet.
