Half an acre Verdun.  Yes I do it all myself but if there is anything too much for me one of my four sons will see to it, like a fallen elder tree I had in the last windstorm we had.  Like Margery Fish I aim to have something flowering in the garden every day of the year!  But at this time of the year there is something new in flower to see every morning until in May the whole place is ablaze with colour.  The pear blossom is out already and the apple blossom about to break.

Flumpy the lovely cream flowers are one of my ground cover plants, a yellow dead nettle, common name Yellow Archangel.  Not only does it have lovely flowers but its leaves too are very pretty - spreads like mad so only for large gardens but its flowers come out with the bluebells.

Awe it looks very pretty, the picture is so clear, I can see the hairs on the flowers image.

its turned to heavy rain here, in a way I'm glad as I've fed the lawn so hopefully in a week or so it will be a lovely fresh green image

A bit damp outside this morning but 9 degrees already and forecast to get to 11 so may get some weeding done in the clear spells promised in the forecast.  Garden coat will be necessary though as it is set to be windy from the north.  There is a bud on one of my freesias this morning in the conservatory so looking forward to that delightful smell.  Tomatoes need pricking out and French marigolds and lots of sunflowers have germinated.

My goodness it was cold today after all - that wind was bitter but i persevered with the weeding.  Work does get you warmer eventually.  Looks like a similar day tomorrow.
