Plumber has been. He asked me to put a load of washing in to test it so I put in my undies on Delicate with 600 spin. Thank goodness I did not put in my gardening clothes at 1400 spin. As it was when it reached the final spin the machine shook so hard it danced out from under the work top into the middle of the kitchen. I just had room to get round it to switch off at the wall. Then the only one shaking was me. I phoned the office and he is coming back this afternoon sometime.
Plumber has been again. He had omitted to take out the transit bars and fix them on the back (in case you move house hen they will be needed again. He also checked for level. I rescued my clean undies and he wanted another load started so i put on a dirty wash cycle with my gardening clothes and gloves in. We will know if all is well when it reaches 1200 spin time. It is a very quiet machine and clock says it has 46 minutes to go!
Panic over. All my dirty washing now clean including my gardening gloves. The 1200 spin was so quiet I had to go into the kitchen to check the machine was still running. I will give it a rest now and put my pile of bedding in tomorrow morning. Now to put all the gibbings back in the cupboard under the sink. That will be one cupboard tidied that would not have been without my washing machine breaking down.
Washing machine on. After the bedding I will work my way through my pile of dirty jumpers. Had I thought this might happen I would have bought a cheaper machine ages ago instead of waiting till I had saved enough for this one. Very damp and misty outside but my new plants from SGC have arrived so I will have a nice job to do potting them on. All fine plants as usual and all alpines and good spreaders for my alpine tapestry. I will take a pic of the Lamium maculatum Beacon Silver which is particularly lovely. I also got Phlox subulata Bavaria,Phlox douglasii White Admiral, Sagina subulata, Thymus pulegloides Foxley and Armeria maritima Nifty Thrifty
If your alpine "lawn" looks anything like that picture it'll be gorgeous, Marion! The lamium is lovely. Unfortunately it joins, in my garden, the list of plants eaten to death by slugs...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Oh TY Hazel. I am reading up about my Miele washing machine . i can do a half wash if necessary and lots of other things to speed it up! The extra time is because the machine does not use the hot water from the tap but heats its own water. The tapestry garden is going to be half way up the very long back garden between two of the rooms so it will be walked on to get up to the Butterfly garden or down to the Middle Beds and is alongside the Potager garden, Joyce. The shortest wash is 20 minutes! It is an "Ego" Classic from Miele and very good for saving on electricity. All the packaging is recyclable too.

Clean clothes and a clean cupboard!! You just need a dry, breezy day tomorrow to get the bedding dried while you potter outside.

There was a general label for alpines in my pots as well which shows what I am aiming for.

Oooh I do like the red flowered Lamium Marion.
An exciting new project. Is the tapestry garden for the front of the house?
