Gosh the weeds came out easily today.  Took some pictures too.

A very damp garden this morning with a few puddles still lying.  never two days the same.  Forecast is for more rain later in he afternoon.  The weeds should be even easier to pull out now.  I must get picking the Big ben blackcurrants before the birds find them.  A very fine crop this year.

You too GWRS.  Still very damp out there but not raining so I did a bit of what I call painting with plants - moving pots to make nice groups.  i love doing that much more than weeding.

In the post has just come the entry form for the Garden for Bristol 2016 competition which is part of the "Bristol in Bloom" project - so late as the last date to enter is July2nd.  But there  was an email address so I entered that way.  Now all I have to do is get the work done and hope the weather cooperates.  Dry days and rain through  the night would be nice   It has to be visible from the road so it is my front garden that is due for a frenzied Chelsea treatment..

    Good luck with that, Marion!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

It started to rain lightly again but I did get a good hour's work done on the front wall, albeit in my raincoat!   I know exactly how I want the garden to look so it is only a matter of getting the time to do it.  And the energy of course.  Tomorrow I will finish pruning the Japanese quince now covered with fruit and work inwards from there.  There is a long planter inside the wall for bedding plants which will look good by the dark foliage of the chaenomeles.  I think I must come back as a garden designer next time round as I love it so.

16 degrees already and set to climb quickly to over 20 so a warm day.  More sun too so may have to continue the front wall in my sunhat.  Luckily the front garden faces North so it is the coolest place to work.  I was so full of enthusiasm last night I dreamed of flowers.  There was one small tree that blossomed right in front of my eyes like in time-lapse photography.  The end result was a mass of blossom I had never seen before.  Trouble is you cannot take a picture of your dreams though i could try to paint it one day.

Worked hard in the front garden and swept up the pavement as there were loads of voters going down to the Polling Station in the school hall.  i found my escallonia in full bud and lots of agapanthus buds so should all be out for judging time.  My garden just keeps giving.  I am having strawberries every day now but will soon have to start freezing the glut.

Green wheeliebin should be emptied today so should get te backlog emptied into it off the patio.  It will soon be full again.  Visitors tonight so will get them to help me put the "furniture" in place for the plant display as it is all too heavy for me.  Lovely weather today and much fresher which is just as well as I stayed awake all night listening to the radio!
