You are going to have a very busy time for the next few days Marion. Hope the weather holds up for you.

I did 4 hours in the garden yesterday and, as it was mainly snipping and pruning, no one would think I'd done anything!!

I have entered my garden for the "Garden for Bristol" Competition in the Bristol in Bloom 2016 project, GWRS.  This has to be visible from the road like a shopfront or pub forecourt or private front garden.  As my garden is elevated from the road I  find having height makes it stand out more so I put displays of plants on stepladders and tables and cut windows through the hedges so people can glimpse them from the pavement like the Chinese do in their gardens.  Our forecast was wrong and the rain ia quite heavy here.  Ah well I can bake for my visitors.

What a lovely picture GWRS.  Everything is so lush now.  I took some pics when it stopped raining.

All the best Marion. If your pictures are anything to go by, you should win hands down. I hope the heavy rain this afternoon hasn't damaged anything.

Lush is the word, Marion - your garden is gorgeous!  I hope you win.  image

We may have a few showers today.  My visitors got my stepladder out to the front door for me but I have more pruning to do to make windows before i plant it up.  I sent for a 70 garden ready plant bargain for £4.99 P&P free and it has just arrived - lovely Begonias "Sahara".  They are advertised at 6 for £11.99 on Amazon!  I like a bargain like that.  Liriodendron,  It is not the winning that gives me the greatest pleasure but the creation of it and reaction of my friends and neighbours to my efforts.  I will take pics of the displays for you when they are ready.  Come to think of it winning might mean professional pictures  from our local paper, the Bristol Post - aaah!

I hope the weather held up for you to get your 'windows' cut and carry out the other preparations for your display.
