Beautiful day for gardening with lots of sunshine but not too hot. I have filled the third windowsill in the conservatory so half way through the windowsills now. This one is by the fig tree.
Another splendid day has dawned and it is Friday so the green wheeliebin will be emptied shortly which means farewell to another mountain of prunings today. I will try and get some of my aoniums brought indoors too. I am expecting a delivery of three pink asters today and more bulbs I ordered from the Secret Gardening Club. I have ordered 15 Cyclamen hederifolium too to add to my ones already in flower and spreading well. They are coming from Jersey so I must keep an eye out for the Asian hornet which is moving in from Europe.
Oh such a glorious sunny morning. I just had to share the lovely sights in my garden. Breathtaking sights and smells. The Gertrude Jekyll rose in its second flowering is perfuming the whole drive and it is so lovely to see a second flowering on the oak leaved hydrangea. I am sure we are having more than four seasons nowadays!!!
Yes it is and this is its second flowering and the perfume seems even stronger now. Sorry you are missing out on the wonderful weather we are having in Bristol. Joyce. One of my neighbours is cleaning out his pond and has just been round to ask me if I would like some purple irises for my bog garden. As i only have the yellow native of course i said yes. Right from the off I knew today was going to be special when i opened my email to find a long newsy letter and lovely pics from his garden from my friend who was writing to me at midnight after coming home from a play. Nice things often happen when you are sound asleep!
Aym 280 that is a gorgeous colour. I am still bringing in my pelargoniums so they will not get frosted. Still lots to do but am gatting there. Courier has just arrived with irises, white camassias and dwarf pink asters just beginning to open their buds so when they have had a drink I will plant them. He laughed when I said "More work" when he found me in the garden .

Marion, you will have a new watering regime now for the conservatory
A chilly breeze and sunny. Suits me better for working.
Me too Joyce. today was perfect. Yes not so much watering in the winter in the conservatory as the tender plants fare better kept on the dry side..

Tarahh! Windowsill no 4 now furnished with tender plants. The two aonium cuttings have good roots on already and were easy to pot up.

Marion: I don't think I'll set foot outside today. Howling winds during the night and wet and windy this morning.
You are fortunate with your weather. . . . the roses are beautiful.
Is Gertrude Jekyll the DA rose you bought this year?
