Happy Christmas everybody.  Very mild here in Bristol too, though I can here the wind blowing down the chimney. My theme next year will be sundry tasks in my Bristol garden including unearthing more of the terraces and constructing my Alpine tapestry Garden.  Never run out of things to do or talk about in my old age in this venerable garden!  Have a wonderful day all of you.

Home again having eaten a great deal of delicious food and the best mulled wine ever.  My family and friends have excelled with their presents.  A huge hamper of M & S food. pile of boxes of chocolates, four bottles of wine, huge box of biscuits,  all means no shortage of nice things to eat and drink through the rest of the winter, plus lovely new top, warm and glamorous pyjamas and the poshest handbag with lovely new purse as well as a new pottery owl mum with two babies and a rock salt lamp ioniser which is so beautiful, three new films for my DVD player, three bunches of flowers - lilies, carnations and chrysanthemums with golden pine cones on sticks in the bunch and a coaster with the "Wonderwoman"logo on.  A large sum of money from my friend in the shape of National Gardening Vouchers  " to help with my Alpine Tapestry Garden" was accompanied by a big bag of my favourite Columbian ground coffee, a net bag of dried rosebuds to hang up in my wardrobe and a pen from Holland with a beautiful pottery red tulip on the end.  I thought the big envelope for the tapestry garden was seeds!  The big parcel from Ballymena does not get redelivered till the 28th as I was out when it was delivered and it had to be signed for.  It has taken me an hour to find a space for everything.  Luckily my niece had brought me a hand made Dartington crystal vase which now has the chrysanthemums in.  The lad next door gave me a superb huge dark red Cyclamen persicum now in the conservatory and my niece brought me a new fern for my bottle garden.   I do hope they had as much pleasure buying the gifts as I had receiving them.

  • Evening Marion and I'm glad you had a wonderful day, with lots of lovely gifts..Is the lad next door, the same one that helps with your leaves ? i bet you are shattered now and ready for relaxing? ?
