Done a lot in the garden. Put 4 tubers of maincrop potatoes in a bag. Ten pelargoniums now out of the conservatory. The late tulips are still beautiful but will soon be over.
Thanks Marion I will do that, it's used to flower lovely, I think I sent you a picture once, so TLC it is. I've cut my lawn, then sat in the sun reading Bridget Jones (all about the boy), then washed the car, just waiting for our minted lamb shank in the oven mmmm : ).
lovely photos Marion, Ho quick question, do primroses only flower in spring?
Not in Bristol they don't! Some of mine flower all through the year! There are over 500 types of primrose and polyanthus. This is my favourite one this week - a double primrose auricula called Marie Crousse. It is a very old one from France originally.
Cloudy this morning and forecast is for rain throughout the day but it is dry at the moment so should take my umbrella when I go out in the garden as it is too warm for a coat. 17 degrees already and set to get to 20.
Raining now so have come in to water in the conservatory. Noticed foxgloves have joined the lilac blossom and that my very ,long garage roof is nearly all pink now. That clematis montana thinks it is up the Himalayas.
oh my what a difference in the weather. Still raining steadily here in Bristol and set to be wet for the rest of the day and night with max of 16 degrees. I am so glad i got the wheelbarrow loaded with perennials and trundled it up to the Perfume Garden and planted them. They will be well watered in now and i did enjoy so much the waves of scent wafting over me as I worked. The agastache leaves were very fragrant and of course the wallflowers are at their zenith.Apple trees covered in blossom now so hoping for some fine days for the pollinators to get busy to provide me with a fine crop.
The birds are still very hungry. Three male blackbirds have arrived for breadcrumbs but the female must be nest sitting so I will put out some more for her when she appears as the collar doves have wiped the patio clean. The buckthorn bush above the burgundy tulips is in full leaf now so the brimstone yellow butterflies will be laying their eggs there soon as it is their larval food source. Somehow the clematis montana looks even lovelier on this dark dank morning.
Pouring with rain this morning but feeling very humid and 16 degrees already. Forecast is for rain all day. But my kitchen diner greeted me with a lovely scent this morning as the first bud of this red freesia had just opened. Growing freesias is so rewarding.
I popped out in between the showers because I knew the blossom I could see from the house would be perfuming the garden beautifully and it was The Hawthorn is fully out now so time to wash and put away my big winter jumpers.

Your garden looks lovely Marion. Are those orange tulips called ballerina? I have some like that in their 3rd year and still doing quite well.
