Good morning , dry but very windy and sun just breaking out
Bought some Salvia from a Mencap walled garden in Stackpole , we always visit it when in Tenby , it is where Spring watch did a one of Spring special a few weeks ago
Lots of jobs in house , not sure if will get into garden today
After a very busy morning in the middle beds weeding I took delivery of 12 new plants from the Secret Gardening Club - 3 each of Tricyrtis dark Beauty, Gypsophila paniculata, Viola Miracle Ice White and Epimedium Ellen Wilmott. Al splendid plants, ordered Wednesday, delivered Friday in prime condition. The Yorkshire Lavender Co. who run the club really are top notch. I have given them all a drink and labels as individual labels are not provided to keep the price down.
Been having fun with my camera - almost the last tulip, lots of flowers on the male holly bush, flowers on my rare Himalayan yellow poppy,Hyomecon japonicum among others. Heucheras are looking especially good and the azaleas about to dazzle.
Cooler this morning at only 8 degrees but forecast to be a dry fine day so all systems go up the garden. When I open my front door the smell of lilac hits me as I have a large white one in my front garden, a pale purple one on the right in the neighbour's garden and a deep purple one on the laft in that neighbour's garden all covered in blossom. I must snap them later. I have been out to my new plants whih I shut up in the cold frame for the night fearing frost. They are all fine.
Hi Marion, I'm always nosying in but never commenting on your garden. It's what we call here a beezer! Yesterday I had a plant ID'd on here as choisya Aztec Pearl. It's my neighbours and it's a giant. The scent is delicious and I'm going to try getting some more smells in if I can.
The lady who lived here before me had dianthus in a raised bed outside the back door and as we moved in the smell of cloves was lovely. Every year when they bloom we are reminded of those exciting times.
Your Hi malayan poppy reminded me of the song OOOOOOOOOklahoma and I'll be singing it all day. I had probs with picture placement as well but if you treat them as a line of text it seems to work ok.
Thank you plant pauper. Yes I have that choisya too. It is a very good plant. I have a tray of Sweet William plants needing planted out today which I grew from seed. My pinks are sending up flower spikes now too. So glad you are enjoying my ramblings and pictures. Hopefully you have the answer to my mistakes. I saw the musical Oklahoma many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the rousing music.
