Got a bit confused at first, as I have been to Hampton Court Palace many times, and thought there must be whole swathes that I had somehow missed. However, google has now taught me that Hampton Court Castle is a completely different place in a completely different part of the country !! Geography lesson concluded for the day
Thank you for the lovely photos. Sounds exciting getting to the sunken garden. You look young and slim.
Thanks Busy Have to admit to being a little less than 27 and the gardening work keeps me slim. The other lady in the photos of HC is my friend that I co-managed an independent nursery with many years ago so she is as plant mad as me lol
Chicky I didn't know either
Matty not surprised you love it. It really is a gem.
Have been to both Trebah and Eden but not Hidden Valley. Where abouts in Cornwall is it? Will have to go find it next time at mums.
Hidden Valley was one of my favourites too. No imposing stately home, but a real gardener's garden with plants for all seasons. Tiny lanes leading to it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I had forgotten about the waterfall and the sunken garden. I knew I loved the place. Think I will have to go back to refresh my memory.
YAY another trip out with lunch
Thanks Busy

Hidden Valley is in the 2 for 1 book. It is North of Fowey off the B3269. It is signposted but is also well 'hidden'
really liked it - not a professional garden.

Due a visit to Cornwall soon so will see if I can find it.
Right where did I get to....
Beautiful herbacious borders
Full of fragrant...ish giant lillies
Hemerocallis
Tall yellow things...can't remember name butterflies loved it
Achillea and Eryngiums
And even bigger and this time smelly giant lillies
And from there you went through a Wisteria tunnel
Out into the open grassy bit
Where there was a big tree
With a little tiny door
Time for tea and cake...rather grand cafe!
Then wondered off down a woodland path and found these to play on
This to paddle in...but don't tell...
And lots of other lovely things I haven't posted. Got to leave you something to find for yourselves!
Looks as though you had a really good day. Thanks for sharing.
I loved Hidden Valley in Cornwall, went there in 2011.
