Gardens we have visited 2013

Busy-LizzieBusy-Lizzie Posts: 23,977

I was wondering about starting a new thread about gardens we have visited and then Blackest said something about putting places on his map so here you are. If you visit any lovely gardens this year what about putting a photo on this thread? If you haven't been anywhere but went somewhere nice last year then send a photo of that. I love looking a gardens - nosy as well!

I'll start with Sissinghurst where we went in April, but, apart from the woodland bit, there wasn't much out yet.

We visited the Keukenhof in Holland in April. It was a beautiful sight to see, so many tulips, just breathtaking, and the perfume from the Hyacinths was just unbelievable.

Lovely photos, thank you all. Want that blue clematis!

I went to the Keukenhof gardens when I was 14 years old, still remember it well, impressive.

Hi I am loving the photo's I've incorporated some into the map http://goo.gl/maps/1PlPG now if you go down the list you will find Malvern Show if you click on that you should be taken to the Marker and the Marker Pin now has some images in it from this very thread. If you right click on an image and select view image you can view them full screen.

You can do this too adding your own photo's to your pins There is a bit of a knack to it but i'll try to explain.

In edit mode you can choose rich text and that has an image icon.

bit like the one on the gw website for uploading images but you cant directly upload a picture what you can do instead is link an image.

donutsmrs has posted a few photo's on this thread so what I do is right click on one of them and select copy image location

This copys the path to the image

    http://s4.gardenersworld.com/uploads/images/original/23802.jpg?width=272&height=350

This is from Kasteel Keukenhof so i switch to the map tab in my browser and select edit and then select Kasteel Keukenhof from the list selecting the rich text editor i get an image icon and pressing that i get a box asking for the url so i paste (ctrl v) the image location that I got from right clicking on the image from donutsmrs post. I then click on ok and  save and done to finish editing on the map.

One nice thing about having the image on there is you can right click on the image and select view image and you will see the image full size.

Of course you can do more than just add images you can write anything you want too.  It's quite powerful and flexible almost like having your own website or blog
