Planted some summer bulbs(Trtelia) , de-weeded, planted a divided phlox ,pruned some perennial  fuchsia, painted some fence panels and had a brew at the end of all that

I'm knackered, stiff and achey. Cut down and cleared up a lot of stuff that I hadn't done in March as I was ill. Planted a rose, "Compassion" against the wall at the back of the long border. Soil was horrid, full of clay and stones, so dug out 3 wheelbarrow loads and changed it for nicer soil, rotted manure and GP compost. Then did a load of weeding and moved a day lily. Sun was getting too hot and I was fed up with clay, so moved to middle bed and made a start on that.

BL - That bitter cress gets absolutely, flaming everywhere. Am trying to keep on top of weeding it out this year - but what with that and brambles and bind weed and sticky weed and nettles and dandelions it's amazing to find any nice plants growing in the garden...

Planted up the verge outside the house with about 50 ox-eye daisy plugs and sprinkled some opium poppy seeds as well. Not sure if they will take - but should look nice if they do - and it will save me mowing it through the summer.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

whilst waiting for the fixing pack to arrive for mower trailer ( it never did arrive ) I thought I'd assemble and fit the deflector to the mower.

Got it all together then the last bit was attach to clip on rear plate: there was no clip. Called the supplier who sent someone out, he looked, couldn't see the thing,   COZ IT WASN'T THERE!!,  took some pics, went back to shop. The called later to say they've taken it up with John Deere.

Had to resort to no grass box and masking tape to hold down the sensor.

OH said he'd do some weeding whilst I cut grass ( 3 hours ) when I finished, he proudly showed me the weed free gravel paths. I'd have much rather he'd weeded some of the beds and left the paths, but it seems churlish to mention. So I said the paths looked lovely.

Do I sound like an ungrateful old cow?

No, you don't, because you told him the paths looked lovely. Is he trustworthy weeding the beds? I won't let OH in my flowers!

Just got in from the garden. Was weeding then watered in GH and veg garden seeds and terrace pots. Now it's too dark to see what I'm doing.

Topbird, I know just what you mean, got all those weeds as well - though there are a lot fewer after the last two days.
