Though I think a further cull is necessary for mine, there are more dirty pinks than I really want..
I have noted that the darker coloured ones are last to flower. Whites first, then pinks and the really dark purples aren't out yet. Can't remember if this has been the case in previous years
Just planted out some tree lilies which have outgrown their 50cm pots. Decided to re-pot the beautifiu 'Miss Lucy' green and pink tinted white doubles as they'd been in the same pot for 3-4 years and didn't do too well last summer. Unfortunately I discovered why - they have either rotted or something has eaten them as there was no sign of bulbs in the containers! Normally I find a few babies even if the main bulb has died, but nothin'
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Went over to Lacock Abbey today as it was lovely and sunny - their snowdrops were just beginning to flower along with the beautiful yellow aconites - are they easy to grow? Does this count as gardening? Also called in at Whitehall GC at Lacock, absolutely heaving with people (they had an ice rink there) but couldn't find the metal obelisk I was after so saved a lot of money.
At home, I noticed that the small bedding begonias in a trough are still going great guns, I bought them back in May and they have flowered on and off ever since, is this a record?
I planted some tulips little beauty, lots crocus tommasinianus some in pots I had and some loose bulbs - 1 pot of aconites that I had need to get some more of them soon
Brought some cheap bulbs today for 10p some alliums , got a new border fork yesterday which will be helpful
Lizzie, aconites are one of those that will either do well and multiply or will die off. They are a plant from deciduous woodland so like light in the winter but shade in the summer and don't like being baked in dry soil.

Oh dear, the shed from my story above is of course on the south side of the greenhouse, not the north.

I'm dwarfed by my shredder Philippa, OH had to cut the hopper down by a foot or so because I couldn't get stuff over the top

Her garden is beautiful Jo
I used to live fairly close by, a good source of plants for the previous garden.

Bagged up more leaves and put them in a sheltered spot.
Tried again to remove the roots of nettles, it's proving diffificult.
