Had a bonfire. Potted on V. bonariensis cuttings, and salvia african skies cuttings, and  white daisy margeurite cuttings. Sown more broad bean seeds, and  some  salad leaves. New trilliums in pots are emerging, so I've moved them out of  the greenhouse. The tulips, kaufmannia early harvest have opened in the Sun. They look brilliant.

Early potatoes are in at one of my plots image I found it more backbreaking than I thought I would so the other site can wait until tomorrow

In the meantime, I have cheered myself up by bringing home my first pickings of 2015- some purple sprouting brocolli imageimage gonna get some spinach from the greenhouse and cook it up tonight image

Bought eight reduced hyacinths in asda( don't know why they were marked down as they look well but at ??2 for eight bulbs I'm not going to ask! image. So put them in a bigger pot. Also been fiddling about in the greenhouse and transplanted four baby aroidsimage

Isn't it so much nicer in the greenhouse, Janet? Certainly is here in Norfol where it's been a much colder day ...

...but used the best two and half hours of the day clearing a bed for replanting. Lots of forking, bending, sorting and sieving then trips to the garden refuse bin. Backs aching but pleased with progress, albeit slow compared with other posters' achievements.

Saved these to put back  in better places...

But can't remember what they are; they give red berries.

And dug up these strange looking roots...

Anyone know what they are. Could they be Delphiniums? I know we had some.

If I cant identify them as reusable they are for the bin.

Have planted out 27 broad bean plants from earlier sowing and sown 2 more rows. Prepared the ground for planting onion sets if I get time tomorrow but we are going out to lunch. Have cleaned out the water bins in veggie garden and refilled them.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

finished sorting out the 5 ramblers on the pergola, Hands now very tingly for thorn damage.

Hey ho, still, I'm very pleased it's over. Next step is to decide which clematis are going up which legs.

    Devon.
  • B 13  the root I don't have a clue, but don't throw away pot them up and put in a corner you never know could be a money tree imageimage if not or a nothing you want then chuck.

Wish I had a GH even an unheated one.

If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.
