Cleared up some old hedge trimmings and collected up twigs and bits of dead branches that have fallen off the trees lately with the help of my under gardener, 3 year old grandson.
A grey day but dry apart from some bits of drizzle so 5 hours of gardening achieved today - demolished 2 broken trellis panels and redressed the posts to which they were attached; weeded and pruned and fed copiously the 7m x 4m bed on whose end the trellis panels sat and reset the two railway sleepers that sit below the trellis as it's a slightly raised bed. Transferred plants form 2 hanging baskets to window boxes so they can have more space and shelter should winter arrive; planted out 30 orange pansies I had intended to put in the window boxes before I changed my mind.
Next job is to replace the trellis and then do the next ones - lots of them following a very windy year and they are about 15 yrs old now so not unexpected.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

OH and I enjoyed the new Star Wars too but Possum and her friend sat and over analysed it all the way home......... Why this? When that? Who t'other and when and why all sorts? To see it in English on release weekend we had to go to the big complex to the north of Brussels a mere one hour's drive away....... I told them to relax and wait for numbers 8 & 9 to clarify things.
No gardening for me tomorrow. I needed a very long, hot shower after this afternoon's efforts and want to stay clean. Back's a bit stiff too.

cleaned GH out but not the glass yet, cleaned pots. Sowed some pelargonium seeds and Lobelia Queen V yesterday . Fitted the glass into my mums GH day before that, it felt like it took forever my fingers were killing me after, it were cold and I trapped them countless times.
After dentist tomorrow I think I will have a go at pruning the grape vine.
