Plenty done here today I'm afraid. Pruning roses, lifting the canopy of a shrub, tidying up, digging and raking a bed ready for spring planting, moving some cowslips to a better location, improving soil and removing some old trellis I didn't want and generally enjoying the very mild weather
Mild in Bristol today too so I have been weeding among my thousands of snowdrops and examining the sefseeds to see if by chance I have a new hybrid worth a fortune, having seen the pictures of people paying £100 for one bulb. The famous onee called "Trym" was found in a garden in the village next to where I live so there is a precedent!

Can't say I'm the happiest I've ever been, but: on a plus side, he's said so long as I can put up with the discomfort ,and I take it easy on holiday, the flight will not exacerbate the condition.
Travel Agents have organised " wheelchair assistance" at Gatwick.
yes more beds cleared and plants split and moved or potted for the daughter . made note .to order spuds and shallots . checked what seeds i have . fed and watered chucks
OH spotted Peabrain the Woodpigeon perched on the edge of the raised bed that has my cabbages in it - my gardening today consisted of putting scrunched up kitchen foil on the end of a piece of string dangling from a bamboo cane on each of the raised beds. I just hope they don't alarm the bluetits who are spending a lot of time hanging around the nearby nest box.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I know this sounds silly but we can tell when the elderly german shepherd has not had their glucosamine chew: she can't jump on the sofa! Since I don't think she knows about the placebo effect it's worth considering.
Edd -sorry I normally post while half asleep I was supporting your Glucosamine Sulphate advice to help Hosta. Okay so using the dog isn't the best of examples but if giving the dog a chew treat laiden with Glucosamine Sulphate seems to enable said 13 year old arthritic dog to leap on a sofa it must be doing something good to the joints. Honestly we can tell in the way she walks whether she's not had the chews for a few days.
I did try Glucosamine Sulphate myself for my own injury related arthritis but am now trying to find a different brand to compare effects. Unfortunately I might be just getting placebo effects so can't say for sure how good the product is. The dog however can't read medical journals to learn about these placebo effects so is a much more reliable patient to ask.

Sorry to all those battling the worst of it.

thanks guys. I'll give it a day or two of as much rest as I can, then look into the GS.
Been mildish here, only pricked out 10 Hellebore seedlings, pink doubles, hopefully.
Nothing to do in the garden, all greenhouse work.

Charlie November, thank you for your PM. I didn't get an email notification for it so I hadn't seen it.
