Got through quite a bit today. Potted up the last plug plants and also planted my purchases from yesterday. While I away had a delivery of Rodgersia Bronze Peacock so managed to get that planted.
Edged and mowed the lawn and moved an azaelea (spelling), also split a load of primroses and replanted.
Baking grandaughter a birthday cake tomorrow so doubt I'll have much time for the garden.
This evening a bird became stuck in my greenhouse. I left the door wide open so it could get out, but it obviously didn't get the hint at where the exit and free world is. When I tried to help it out it hid and now it has hidden behind the compressor of the refrigerator, which I only noticed some time later by flashlight from the outside..I removed the panes from the outside, but can't get my hand behind the compressor to get the bird.
I've put a heat pad, some nesting material, water and food in and clipped the panes back, It's had some water with a touch dioralyte, so I think it'll be fine. Moved the fridge so the compressor is near the greenhouse door. The hot water bottle's at the ready for the rescue box tomorrow if needed. The poor wee thing is frightened..
Potted on a few little pots of herbs. Tried to buy compost from b&q online UK they don't ship 60 litre bars as they are too bulky. Ordered 10 18 litre instead. Hmm.
Gardengirl, the pillar marks the end of a wall, about 1m tall, that divides the higher lawn from the lower one. First OH had it built in 1991 for a climbing rose which since died as deer ate it. Now that 2nd OH has fenced that bit of the garden, I have planted another rose.
Primrose C, Phil is beautiful. Hope he doesn't eat your plants.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Garden is looking beautiful Lizzie. You will have to let me know what the pink shaped tulips are, I have 3 the same (already here), would love to get more to make much more of an imprssion with them next year. All that hard work is definitely paying off.

Frank, the trick to encouraging your bird to leave is to wait till dusk and put a light outside to which it should fly. I did this when a bird was trapped in my house, and no amount of chasing it towards open windows worked. The light trick worked immediately.
It was supposed to have rained today, but we haven't had a drop! I dug over a friend's very stony bank and planted it with baby buddlieas and hardy geraniums. She wants a natural look under the trees. Should look great later, and a good solution for this spot. Pretty flowers just wouldn't do.
