yes emptied the brick shed and chucked the clutter . bet i need something soon thats gone . but i can now get too and work at the potting bench now the summer house and old coal shed tomorrow
ps i had seven pairs of builder type gloves. plus garden gloves . 5x 5lt petrol cans and a bulmers ice bucket. and a rolling pin coat hangers .two vu vu zalas glass jars , spread tubs, yogurt pots. etc etc
After a morning out with OH spending One and Only's inheritance, I (at last) managed a couple of hours in the garden. Dug first part of bean trench then finished planting bulbs Luckily most of them are in bulb planting baskets so have already started growing.
Volunteering in cafe tomorrow so won't be able to garden.
Also had to deal with vine weevils in heuchera pots today.
3 of the 8 in the coldframe had tops which came off when I lifted so those divided and repotted and the rest treated with vine weevil killer which is just about the only chemical I still use these days. Will be investing in a large quantity of nematodes when it is warm enough. After losing my remaining winter carrots a few weeks ago and recently finding one inside a parsnip, I will be overrun with the bu&&ers if I don't take serious action!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Can't remember the last time I posted on this thread about real gardening. Pruned the Wisteria, potted on some blue poppies and tidied up a border. Felt great to be outside in the garden again. Short lived though it's raining again now.
Started taking pallets apart to re-do the fencing. Boys were sulking as I told them they couldn't play football on the grass as there isn't much left and it needs sorting out. Went round Wickes and Homebase pricing up gravel boards for raised beds and shingle, I think 20mm rather then the 10mm, would love to get the white stones but out of our price range.
I had a good day but it flew by, another precious Saturday gone
Went out looking for spring bulbs since everyone else has them and found some aconites and snowdrops (just buds) under some debris. Tidied up some dead sticks and weeded weeds from t'other weekend and snipped the rest of the hellebores ready for them to flower.
Made a thin offshoot to the bird table off my brick path. Found some crocus under the previous temporary bricks Also found some brave daffodils lifting a broken slab I'd placed on their heads
Washed all the hen poo off the path - she's been in a good mood today, 'helping' etc...
Also dug a bit of rose bush out my hand. It's been there since before Xmas
Hello , spent day at allotment Unfortanely making a new gate to replace one vanderlised last year , still pleased with the job , don't think it will win Gate of the Year but good enough for me
A lovely sunny day here.... I weeded the Strawberry bed, very very wet but managed to do most from the path and trowelled over the bits I had to tread on. Cut back a few branches on the Blackcurrant that were resting on the ground, trying a few cuttings from those. Had a general tidy in the garden, just wish it would dry out a bit... Hey ho we get ever nearer spring.

Watered stuff in the cold GH as we're forecast some above freezing nights.
Shifted hundreds of barrowloads of shredded laurel to mulch some garden.
OK, about a dozen barrowloads
Planted some harts tongue ferns that I rescued from a path last year.
In the sticks near Peterborough
