Blowing a gale down here in SW France also. Rain just starting yet again! We seem to be getting later each year with our planting, much colder and wetter in the spring, but when summer starts it all systems go, often too hot! image

Gorgeous day here in Kent, mostly sunny, bit breezy and dry! Perfect weather for my hard labour:

    • dug up and potted recently planted Lavender and Box balls as I realised they will need to swap sides due to shade from pergola (going up soon) I will replant once all danger of big feet has passed
    •  Moved Rosemary shrub to better situation
    • planted 1 Clematis and 7 Kniphofia babies from recent division
    • mulched
    • divided clumps of sisyrinchium to spread through my Eremurus hopefully as the perfect companion plant
    • untangled and identified 3 of my 6 Clematis cuttings from autumn sans labelsimage

Now its bath time, I'm pooped! image

Had a lovely sunny morning sowing peppers, sweet and hot varieties in the conservatory.   Spent this afternoon wind-proofing the garden from the predicted storm coming. It's just started raining, kettles on, time for a cuppa.

    much anticipation Verdun.

    Devon.
  • Lovely day here but was threatened with wind and rain on the early morning forecast I wish they could get it rightimage I changed all my plans to indoor sowing and sorting pots. When lunchtime came and only wind NO rain I've been out cutting back perennials and clearing bramble from the dyke bank??? ( imagevicious stuff) three cheers for extra light hourimageimageimage

Spent a couple of hours in the greenhouse, almost finished sowing seeds, potted on a few more rooted fuchsia cuttings, must stop doing them!

Potted up dahlia tubers, most are started from seed this year.

Someone gave me Bishops Children seeds, they are up, definitely best for bees.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Despite rain being forecast, I got my washing dry (even the denims) and took myself off after lunch to a garden centre near Beverley  image. Came back with a climbing and 2 floribunda roses, a jasmine . The herbaceous plants were all big, I shall wait to get some smaller ones. Oh and 2 trays of violas to tart up the front of the borders.

I shall be getting my hands dirty tomorrow.
