Planted about 40 cloves of garlic today and prepared containers for about the same number of strawberries which are going in tomorrow. Dead-headed dahlias again - looks like they'll still be going at C*******s if this weather continues! Picked a bucketful of Cox's Orange Pippin which are stunningly crisp, juicy & delicious this year.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Like GWRS, I got out in the afternoon once it cleared up. Planted tulips, deadheaded dianthus and alliums, picked a strawberry or two, painted another bit of the shed, and emptied a pot of vine weevils into a border...
so then I had to gather the whole lot up and spread it around on paving for the birds
On the plus side, it was nice and sunny till about 4pm, Dennis the robin had a feast, and I took some photos
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I netted my cabbages (took the fleece off), harvested the last of the butternut squash, made up 7 bags of 2015 leaf mould and creocoted the front fence. Good day in all.

Wow Bob. That's a lot of garlic!
I emptied a bed and rearranged it all. Lovely autumn sunshine.
I collected my chilli plants from plot and am now threading them on cotton to continue drying at home.
