Very  wet and windy today but between the showers and gusts I divided a large agapanthus. I then re-planted these in an area of the boarder between rubeckia and phlox to give , what will hopefully give some colour balance. I then went in to my GH to get out of rain and wind and  looked over my garden . Even  as a gardener of 40 years, I still get so excited at the formation of new growth from perennials and shrubs at this time of year. That iis why Spring is my favourite season, by far

    Happy Gardening

Nice sunny day today.  Tied in the 3 clematis to arch and obelisks.  Cut back a load of Ivy and puned a honeysuckle.  Really enjoyed the day but very achy and tired now.

Finished pruning the 3 Albertine roses and cut down the clematis Etoile Violette and Ville de Lyon.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Perfect spring day. 1000 Kg of compost moved from the front of the house to the veg plot and rotavated in. My horrible clay is now a nice dark soil that is tilling up lovely for some sowing and planting over the next few weeks. image

pricked out a tray of Zantedeschia. No idea what I'm going to do with 144 of them. I hadn't  expected such a good germination percentage.

It feels like murder when you dump excess seedlings Hostafanimage

I did actually dump some of them Nutcutlet. The 144 were all too good to dump and I've got another 4 trays of them. Hey ho, I'm sure I'll find someone to home them.
