I'm so weak but I couldn't help myself - just bought 50 bluebells in the green and a woodland wildflower mix (even though I've got a cheap 'shake & rake' wildflower pack from B & M)!
'In the green' snowdrops planted in the borders. Vipers Bugloss seeds direct sown, devils-bit scabious sown in tray. A block of coir hydrated and ready to use.
Just ordered a load of plants from Parkers... I blame the rain! All that lovely colour in the catalogue. OH is out at the footy; since I paid with my account, do I need to confess, or can I just wait until the plants are delivered, and hope he's out then too??
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Got the cucumber, melon, squash and pumpkin seeds sown (45 in total) and a few more trays of various flowers, mostly perennials. Soil in the rasied beds (for carrots and parsnips) prepared. Noticed about half the tomato seeds have germinated, some of them from 10 year old packets I found when having a clear-out! Definitely going to have space problems soon..
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
My nephews have moved in to a new house with a rear garden with just a lawn . Last year I created boarders by using a half moon edger and applied stump rot to 2 cut down tree stumps. Today , I returned today to check the stumps. They have rotted down well. Due to the excavation I did to expose the trunks, there was a load of rocks and large stones to be removed from the boarders prior to any planting being carried out . Back breaking work but now the soil in the boarders have been turned over and surprisingly the soil was not that bad. Will be planting out next week hopefully
Actually managed to get a friend interested in gardening. He's lived there since 1996 and the patch of rough ground to the rear of his house is the same as when he moved in.
However, some cheerful primroses have set up home in the centre of said rough ground. I told him how lucky he was to have this happen and now he's been out and bought a tub, compost and seeds!!

I've also potted up and blue berry and black berry and defeated three tree stumps (they were rotten so don't really count!
