Awe just watched Love your Garden, so sad it was hard to hold the tears back, I was trying to see your sweet peas Marion but couldn't see them, they did a good job, the garden was massive : )
FB friends have sent me two pictures of my sweet peas - one from the assistant producer is rather dark but shows them before the final filming where they were as in the secong picture, in front of the workshop shed which had the log art on it and on the left of the picture.
Morning all. Minus 4.7c and heavy frost this morning, so I'm glad we had a nice hot shower to get us started. Off to town - 4 monthly visit to Dr and then weekly visit to chiropractor for me, so I'll be leaving the food shopping to Hubby today. Probably end up with more than what's on the list . Is there a smiley face for rolled eyes and whistling?
i haven't ventured out to check on the onions and garlic that I transplanted yesterday, but I'm not expecting to be pleased. best wishes for a nice warm day for all.
Ok. Went out, briefly. All Vegs hanging their beards with a layer of ice, the temp in GH was minus 2, my poodle followed me as usual but did a lot of high stepping. I haven't managed to make booties for her yet. She's beside me on the lounge busily licking her paws now.
Snow predicted down to 1000m and we are on 850m, so might just be on the surrounding hills and not on the house area.
3.30pm now and what a miserable day. Cold, freezing, wet, etc. they are having snow in Canberra (first time since 2006). We're home and not moving from the heater. I can't see our hills for rain/sleet, but expect when it clears that there might be a dusting of snow up there. Brrr.
Morning Marion, I can now see your sweet peas I loved the size if that garden it was lovely and made me very emotional , not sure about that bed, what did you think of it ?
hope you enjoyed the rest of your Birthday ?
Glorious blue sky here today and my parents are visiting this am so I think we can sit outside and have tea and biscuits or maybe a fruit drink.
Evening Pat so glad you've got hot water now There's nothing worse than being without hot water, our boiler broke down two years ago when it was -5 we had no heating for over a week, we where sleeping in our jumpers and coats Until British gas put a new one in
Flumpy - great visual image you've given me. I must admit that I really thought they were going to let us down yesterday, so it was a great relief when they turned up and got the job done. Haven't got the account yet, but I'm not expecting a bargain.
The woman who does the massaging at the chiroractor's, is the wife of the plumber, so today, she asked how we got on with the hot water system. It's a tangled web, here.
Glad you are comfortable again Pat. Such a struggle to grow veg. in frost though. My last visitor, son no 3 went after 10pm. He watched the Love Your Garden program with me and is paying for a Maid Marion Rose from David Austen for me as One of my FB friends sent me it with her birthday greetings and I fell in love with it. Dentist visit this morning so have to get a move on.
I have had a lovely message from Rachel Drake thanking me for the sweet peas which she says are even more beautiful now with lots of flowers and smelling wonderful and reminding her of her mother whose favourite flowers they were.
