You too, GWRS. It rained all day here in Bristol so I just made a big pot of soup and froze most of it and four cakes. When the weather is good enough to get out in the garden i will not have to worry about cooking winter warmers. i have lots of soups and stews stuffed full of my own homegrown veg. and apple puddings galore.
Turned on the heating for the first time this autumn as the top temperature today is nine degrees. I have to go to the shops as I have two of the family for dinner tonight so brisk walking is on the cards. It is dry at the moment but rain forecast for this evening.
Good morning , bit overcast but sunny starting to break through , just about to go up to allottment , get a few jobs done before bad weather hits tomorrow
Morning Marion and others. While you are turning on your heaters, I'm turning on my air conditioner. It's been a horrible stinking hot windy day here. Hope we get a break tonight if the predictions are correct.
Not very cold yet, Fruitcake. I have just come in from my AGS meeting where we had a lovely talk on the winter garden and I was able to ask the speaker for suggestions for my perfume garden. He was very knowledgable as another of his talks is Perfume in your garden. I bought three iris reticulata "Harmony" growing in a pot and almost at flowering point, two varieties of schizostylus and a white salvia in flower, an arum lily which is a small leaved one suitable for the scree garden. I will be springing out of bed as soon as it is light tomorrow. Enjoy London Fruitcake. The snow will probably not reach there.
Very cold here with a yellow warning of high winds so I decided it was too harsh to take my new purchases outside. Dry and sunny however so should be able to put on many layers and do some tidying when the wind drops. I will take a snap of the new plants while they are in the kitchen.
Hi Marion, it's freezing cold here, the thin layer of snow is still on my car, and the pansy's in my hanging baskets have flopped over night : (, is it to cold for hanging baskets now?, lovely plants Marion, you keep wrapped up warm : )
