I think you have written that wrong flumpy . Sweet peas are not edible. They are sweet smelling flowers! Have you grown some peas perhaps sugar peas you are thinking of. called mangetout which you eat raw in salads? Anyway if the packet said sweet peas they are flowers and must not be eaten. There are flowers that are OK to eat and brighten up salads like chive flowers and nasturtium flowers, violets and daylilies, but not sweet peas. They are for lovely bunches to scent the house.
Bristol had some showers through the night so the garden is well watered which means easier weed pulling once more. It really is ideal gardening weather, butthe forecast says all down hill on Thursday again when it will revert to cold and wet through the day, so no slacking today and tomorrow. Some tomato plants are ready to be potted up so I shall take some compost in to the conservatory and do that on Thursday when I have recovered from Moliere's "Tartuffe" at the Tobacco Factory on Wednesday night.
Rain through the night is helping enormously. No pots needed watering today which saved me some time and energy. It was a bit warm digging out long taproots of docks despite the breeze. More potatoes being planted this afternoon and some tomatoes put into their permanent pots .
Yes, everything is growing apace including the weeds but today is ideal gardening weather once again. I have potted up my Sunlemon, Sunchocola and Red Bodyguard tomatoes for Mr. Fothergill's trials and a heuchera that was busting its pot. More potatoes to plant next then another big weeding session. Terrific crop of "Sweetheart" strawberries and "Big Ben" blackcurrants which were a trial for Mr. f last year. Can recommend those two. Very easy and very healthy.
Water hyacinth in the Tropical pond at the Bristol Botanic Garden. Here are today's picture from my garden. Lots of ferns as I was so hot I went and weeded in the fernery where it is cool.
Rain is forecast for us for all today and it has just started. It also feels cold as the temperature is down from 16 yesterday to 10 today. Back to winter clothes then. The garden will no doubt lap it up. The fruit should swell and nothing will need watering fro me except in the conservatory. More potting up to do there.

Hi Marion
What is this beautiful pond plant, if you don't mind me asking?
Many thanks.

Lots of lovely fruit and herbs coming along.
And lots of beautiful May flowers.
