Ho Marion that looks like a really big butterfly , your chrysanthemums are looking lovely Marion and the Gazanias are still flowing nicely.
the weather as brightened up the suns out and gone very hot, I ended up getting two cakes, lemon drizzle and chocolate cake , Gavin ( my hubby) said thanks Marion.
Marion my chrysanthemums grew back from last year, it's not showing signs of flowering, do I need to give it a trim?
Not if you have no flowers yet. The leading bud is the one you pinch back to get the side shoots with more flowers. Give it time, flumpy. October is outside chrysanthemum time. My bargain ones would all be hothouse bred no doubt. Cakes sound nice. It has been too hot today for my heart so had swollen feet for the first time ever. Looked up NHS direct which said to put your feet up three or four times in a day which I did and swelling has gone now but that may be because the sun has gone behind the clouds and it is a bit cooler. Anyway I was sensible and the only gardening I did was tying up my giant sunflowers to their stakes and a bit of deadheading. No digging or pruning or anything that would make me breathless!
Thanks Marion glad I asked you now , hope you've got your feet up Marion, it's been very muggy today, I only had to prune my sweet peas and I was hot, I was going to do the lawn but I knew I would get too hot and I've got a headache
Hope it's dry tomorrow I may give the lawn ago then instead
The weather over there sounds horrible. Is this usual for this time of year? Maybe it's the last gasp of summer? I always think of autumn and spring as the most changeable and unpredictable seasons. In spring here in this village, there are lots of prunus planted as street trees and they look lovely with their pink blossoms as you come down the hill Into the valley, then every year, we get a huge wind storm and the hole lot get stripped. Heartbreaking.
its still dark here (just before 6) and I slept heavily from about 9.30 until now. I thought older people needed less sleep.
Marion, hope you feet come good for you. Most uncomfortable.
Ho Pat the weather in England is so unpredictable all year round, it's thunder and lightening and very very heavy rain right now , it was hot sun this afternoon but rain in the morning, you can't have a summer here.
glad you had a good sleep, have you been burning the candle at both ends
Ho Flumpy. Yes a bit of candle burning with Hubby so ill yesterday, but I always sleep heavily- just not usually for so long. I usually go to bed about 11-12 and wake about 6-7. A lot depends on madam here on the floor beside the bed, when she wants to go out for a nature break (as the cyclists say), she shakes her long ears and rattles her collar. It works every time. Wakes me up from deep sleep every time.

Wow, Marion. The chrysanthemums are going to be absolutely covered with flowers! Mine don't flower until May (in time for our Mothers Day).
My gazanias are still dazzling.
My "Maid Marion" rose is still smelling delightful at the back door. This Speckled Wood butterfly nearly got stepped on in the conservatory.
