Hello flumpy.  I have managed to get some work done in the garden as it stayed dry but the wind is getting strong now.  I planted my new large purple crocuses under a dozen viola plants and planted out six perennials,  The winter newsletter from the Botanic garden has just arrived and they are renewing their members open garden days to make funds next year so may apply for that if they can find an organiser.  I can imagine hordes of people going round sniffing all my perfumed plants!

Bright and dry this morning so should be able to get busy filling up the green wheeliebin once it has been emptied.  I will tidy the back of the garage and put my big pots of tender plants in there just in case the weather turns at the weekend.  They are all near enough to be just rolled into place.  The wheelbarrow is full of rainwater so will put that into one of my barrels and tip up tje wheelbarrow on the side of the caravan to keep dry over winter.  I just cannot bet on this very mild weather continuing much longer.

We have a St. Nicholas Market that is open all year round near St. Nicholas Church. GWRS.  It is a lovely old part of Bristol by the river and always looks lovely but of course superb at Xmas.  Bath is only a few miles away where there are streets of chalets all beautifully decorated for Xmas looking superb with the Abbey and Pump rooms behind them.  The sun is bright and warm here today and my green wheeliebin is half full again already.  I will go back out after my coffee.  I had five and a bit pages og offers from the secret Gardening Club this morning but restricted myself to four - 3x a white bergenia, sx Primula Wanda (I only have the purple one), 3x a Pink pink and ao blue anemones.  More work for me next week!

Oh dear it has started to rain and it will soon be getting dark.  Here are some of my winter violas planted out on top of dark purple crocuses from the Secret Gardening Club.  The little birds were bought in the Oxfam shop donkeys' years ago for pennies.  I could not visualise being without my picnic table outside the kitchen to play on in the winter months - easy to run indoors when it rains.

Hello Marion, I love your little birds and your violas will look gorgeous once they start flowering.

The weather here was a little cooler but dry and sunny for most of the day, until now, it's going very windy.

I'm working tomorrow morning : (, but finish at 12, I'm going to put this Xmas tree up this morning and maybe wrap some of my presents, have you got your presents Marion? : )

I grew a lot of my presents and make three Xmas cakes.  The grandchildren get money which is appreciated especially by the university students.  Next week I am going to see "Abigail's Party" at the theatre and to a Xmas dinner invite from the Church ladies who visit my garden in May.  I have bought some presents online and have started my cards.  The ones for abroad are all posted.  In two weeks time I will get out my manger and put the lights on in the conservatory where the pelargoniums are looking very Xmassy.  I can hear the wind getting up now I have put the telly off!
