Awww, flumpy and Fruitcake, you will be like me when you have retired.  Mind you I did it three times - the last time at 85 when I retired from working as a volunteer at the Botanic Garden, but then volunteered for the Nation of Gardeners trials for Mr. Fothergills so really haven't retired yet as I am still doing that but it is all gardening. just not my choice.  I did get a lot done today but rewarded myself with two films - "Shall we Dance" and "Billy Elliot" on BBC2 and 4.  Quite a treat.  Looks like we are going to have good gardening weather in Bristol till next weekend at least, Fruitcake.

I went up my garden to get strawberries for my cereal (4 large ones) and take a "Before" picture of the nettle corner I want to tackle and found the day lilies(hemerocallis) are opening their buds and I have a pale pink and a darker pink azalea from the two I separated when they came in the same pot last year.  My new peony , the white, pink and yellow "Laura Dessert" is pure white when the flower is full.  Just luscious.

I had a free packet of passiflora seeds lately. Clarice, I must see what I can do.  Have a lovely day.  The housework can always wait.

My 60 odd year old kitchen scales gave up the ghost recently so i treated myself to a new electronic kitchen scale from M&S sale and found when it arrived I not only had added to my wise old owl collection but had a new kitchen clock too which is much easier to read than the one on my cooker.

Another brilliant day so gardening here i come though where I will put all the nettles today is a quandary as the green wheeliebin is full up.  I may chop offf the roots and stuff the three plastic composters in the potager.  There will be more strawberries ready to go on my cereal which makes me feel the hard work is all worth it.

what a quirky wee scale and i love your dish also. beautiful pics from you per normal.

i got my housework done yesterday and then rest of day in the garden image have a few things to pot up/move on today, things that were not doing too well where they were so fingers crossed their move will be of benefit. picked some peas this morning for adding to stirfry later and some strawberries to have with jelly/icecream. As ive written on another post, i cant upload pics here but can do it via dropbox link so al drop a few here hp incase you fancy a wee look, once you grab five mins to yourself as your a very busy lady image
