Thank you Linda and Flumpy for your warm welcome. I've woken to another freezing morning today - no surprises there. I'm planning on lifting the cloches today to give my veggies a bit of sun which has arrived at last. The cloches will go back on about 4pm.
I had a lively surprise last week. The little art gallery in my local town held their winter exhibition and so I submitted a painting of Eucalptus leaves and native violet - Viola hederacea and what do you know, I won first prize in the watercolour section.
Had a productive day - cleaned up the day lilies, pampered the vegetables, and so on. Came in when it got too cold and watched Monty moving cyclamen, Carol looking at Ericas at Wisley and taking cuttings.
Lovely birds Pat. Bring you a bit of colour in the middle o winter like our robins do. I love my huge Blue gum eucalyptus in my garden but have not painted them as yet. Love painting in watercolour too. Well done on your prize.
Another brilliant day weatherwise so should get a lot more weeds into the green wheeliebin. I am looking forward to visiting the Botanic Garden tomorrow for Professor Stephen Barrett's lecture called "Modern plant exploration and the discovery of novel floral diversity". That sounds like it could be really mind blowing. He is from the Ecology Dept. of Toronto university.
Got my breath back after harvesting strawberries by taking some pictures of the colour combinations in the garden, though the spider took my breath away again.

Well done, England - our women are through to the quarter finals of the World Cup - energetic to the last minute too!

Photos of Crimson Rosellas getting into the fat and seed supply. They managed to get the feeder onto the ground.

A few more pics.
My orange gazania had barely two open flowers this morning but the brilliant sunshine has enticed it to open seven now.
It's like a burst of sunlight.
