Another splendid day weatherwise for Bristol, warmer than yesterday. My big order of plants from the Secret Gardening Co is arriving today so as two of the species are trays of plug plants I will be busy potting them up. The conservatory is nearly all cleaned now so ready for new incumbents almost. I should do before and after pics of it as by the end of October it will be jam packed once more and I will be gardening more and more indoors because of the weather outside.
You are so organised Marion. I've not been able to get going today for some reason. I'm not sure if I'm coming down with something, or what. I always feel guilty if I can't get myself going. I did manage to go out and cover all the brassicas with cloches and covers, so hopefully I've beaten the emergence of the cabbage whites.
You sound as if your ears are recovering now, so that a positive. There is a warm/hot spell predicted in the next few days, so that'll get the butterflies moving. It's strange here with the weather patterns. They are saying that WA is in for a pounding of bad weather coming in from the Indian Ocean, and that usually gets to us in about 3days, but at the same time the weather map shows a hot spell coming towards us from the centre of Australia and that's usually awful. You can never tell until it arrives.
Yes, ladies , amazing weather, still on for tomorrow and then a change to cooler and wetter. But in the meantime I have been working as hard as I am able. 27 lovely plants arrived today by courier from the Secret Gardening Co. Such good plants and such sensible environmentally friendly packing. I am so glad to have found this company in Bristol's Green Capital of Europe Year.. Three each of nine varieties. Even their plug plants are huge. Also 80 of my 270 plugs of spring bedding plants arrived from Suttons. Perfect plugs all ready to be potted on which I did. Took pictures of the Secret Gardening Co. plants after I unpacked them. Will photograph them again after I have them all labelled tomorrow.
My new Phlomis plants on the left waiting for me to label them.
Another lovely day but rain forecast for tonight. I must get the rest of my new plants potted up and search for used labels I can re-use. I have a guest for supper so need to go to the shops which I will do first. The garden will be glad of the rainwater.
We had a lovely sunny day today, Marion. I potted on the tomato plant that I bought from Woolworths and guess what? There was another seedling hiding beside the main one, so I've now got two tomato plants. I'm hoping they'll survive in the green house until the weather settles. I set up another mini GH on the front verandah and have moved lettuce, parsley, sage and tarragon in to that so that it is handy to the kitchen.
HAha, Pat. You and I are exact opposites at the moment - you pushing things out into the garden while I am pulling them into the conservatory. Great way to enjoy gardening all year round.

Ok. My daughter has a similar situation. It's a good idea.
