Happy St. Valentine's Day to you all. It is very damp in Bristol but promises to be drier and brighter later on and still mild. May be a day for food shopping but I shall have to avert my eyes when i pass the florists as there are sure to be some temptations out on the pavement. I should see some lovely crocuses out in front gardens however. They will open up if the sun makes an appearance.
Happy valentine day Marion, im going to cut some twiggs later and bring some spring into the house they look lovely Marion, thanks for the advice too, its grey but dry in the north and a little chilly but still its better than frost
Well, if the fog machine meets with your approval, then it's fine by me Marion!!
Cold here in Stoke-on-Trent, but the sun has come out, so managed to do some tidying in the garden, sowed some seeds, and dug over a new bed for flowers that I can cut. Lots of gravel that needed to be sieved out, so hard work, but very satisfying!
Yes we had a sunny day in Bristol too, Linda, and it did feel good working in it. My crocuses are showing but did not open up for me to snap them. Soon will though. I read today about the research into the effects of gardening on the body by Coventry University. They should be able to advise us on the way to tackle jobs in the most beneficial way for our health, like sports people are advised how to avoid sports injuries.
Good morning Marion , mild here too with 'white cloud'. Having widened a border intend to check for weeds, fork in some compost and plant up perannials divided last autumn. Snowdrops to divide now, crocus coming through and the greening of muscari looking good. Love their rich blue flowers.
Your garden shows beautiful colour, such a pretty edging to the primulas (primroses?).
Right, time to make a start, out with the kneeling pad...
Good to hear from you, BizzieB. I have been to the shops to stock up for visitors as it is Sunday but a quick cup of coffee and then out in the garden. i must snap my chaenomeles which is covered in blossom and looks so good out in the front garden with the white heather. Yes nearly time to divide the snowdrops and plant another two or three hundred.

Looks like another dry day and mild again so outside work possible. Perhaps we may get a bit of sunshine to persuade the crocus flowers to open up.

Worked myself to a standstill and then fetched my camera. Here are the pics I took.
