9.30am Monday. Hello everyone. The only thing I can do is keep trying to get better at using the system and yes, Marion, I can see that my stuff has doubled up. I am trying to work out why it has been happening - I'll get there eventually, I hope. Sorry to be so annoying.

I'm glad Monty's talk was so inspiring. We just had our second last episode of GW yesterday for this season and I always enjoy it. Hubby has it set to be recorded in case I'm not inside when it's on,so I can look at it at my leisure. Yesterday Monty was cleaning plant labels and throwing out old seeds,Carol was visiting some lovely roses and telling us about the history of our love of roses, etc.  It's inspired me to go through my seeds and now I'm impatient for the weather to warm up so that I can get going on planting seeds and into the greenhouse. It's still too soon, the thermometer each morning is still below 0c when I open the door of the greenhouse.

Fidget, thanks for you help. We couldn't work out where the green arrow was, because I was already in the thread. We have now realised that it is in the Forum list that the green arrow is. dah!

I hope you all have a good day and that the various sites are sorted out.

And now for some pics from my friend's tiny garden in inner city Bristol.  The first one is his newest purchase - Pentas lanceolata.  His yellow rose "Molineux" is just beautiful.

    Hello Marion,

I went to the talk given by Monty yesterday too, I really enjoyed it and he was such an engaging speaker - I could have listened to him all day.

It was my first visit to the Botanic Gardens even though I have lived in Bristol all my life and Wow what a gem, the gardens were spectacular and the buildings were amazing not at all what I expected.

I have been following your posts for ages and look forward to reading them when I can.

I have a very tiny but colourful garden, my passion is growing vegetables for my rabbit which I grow in a veg trug due to lack of space.

I know Bristol is a very big space but I keep getting amazed by people on the bus when I tell them i am going to the Botanic Gardens at the back of the Downs who say they did not know it existed!  Eddie R if you live near Brentry why not give me a visit? Then you can see my plants in the flesh ( do plants have flesh?), perhaps there is a better metaphor.  Do send me a message.

    Hi Marion,

I live in Horfield and would love to visit you and see your plants sometime.  I think plants do have flesh of sorts! The above picture is of my back garden which is all paved and has raised beds. Our front garden is long and skinny and does have a patch of grass.  We love seeing wildlife in the garden and have regular visits from various birds ( the gold finches are my favourites at the moment) and a couple of squirrels.

I had best get back to work!!!

Your rabbit Alfie looks lovely, EddieR.  Do ask your husband if he would like to bring you down to Brentry for a visit and I will message you my address.  I have family in Gloucester Rd, Quarrington Rd and Nottingham Rd so know Horfield well.

A personable young man from the Alan Titchmarsh team has just taken off a pot of my sweet peas for the last episode of "Love Your Garden"in the present series.  I answered one of the production team's plea for help to find some on FB.  Here they are waiting for him by the garage and i shall be eagerly watching for them on the program!  Also a pic of an evening primrose just flowered in the driveway and the first flower on a lovely day lily one of my fb friends sent me.
