You too Snow.  I have whacked myself this morning in the sunshine so ready for some lunch.  GG I am eagerly waiting to see what transpires from the city council.  There is to be a statement on line sometime today.

The message update inline said there had been meetings with the administrators all through the weekend which are continuing today, GG.  Thank you for your concern.  There are 2,500 people in Bristol who thought they were going to have warm houses this winter now not quite sure and !,300 of them left with unfinished work.

Lovely photos Marionimage.  Shame about the boiler and insulation but, you're right, at least you haven't been left in a big mess.  Hope the Council can come up with somethingimage.

I had my first delivery from the Secret Garden Club and have been very pleased with the packaging and healthy rootballimage.  Nothing exotic but a Nepeta I've not been able to source locally.  Thank you for pointing me in the right directionimage.

Well done Lesley.  I have been really pleased with all my purchases.  I cannot grow nepeta as I have six neighbours cats who would be constantly under the influence if I did!

The idea of all those cats rolling about has kept me amusedimage.  Don't think they'll hang around our garden for too long because of the dog.  There are only a couple round here.  On the other hand they know when she's behind glass because they come quite close to taunt herimage.

Good morning everyone. I think we are in for a warm fine day today, but it started off quite cold and heavy dew.

I bought "cat grass" Dactylis glomerata and "cat mint" Nepeta X faasinii for my son's visiting cats. They love the grass but don't even sniff the cat mint.  I bring the pot inside when they are here And the grass gets nearly pulled out by the roots. It's very entertaining to watch them attacking it.

I spoke to my neighbour to-day and she told me she's got another kitten. That's 10, yes ten cats now.

Will my birdies have any chance?

Oh, my goodness, Hostafan, ten cats!  That must be an awful expense, what with food and vets fees.  The cats from the neighbours who visit me do not bother the birds as they are all well fed and very lazy. One ginger one lay on the path watching me work while a robin was flitting from the top of my fork down to my feet whenever i unearthed a worm without batting an eyelid.  Occasionally one will jump through the garage window to sniff around for mice clues so I keep it shut when the blackbirds are nesting just up above it in the clematis montana thicket.  My garden is so full of berries and seeds for the birds I do not have to buy any food for them but do keep the birdbaths clean and full and they are well used without any cat threatening them.  I do not think cats like water much.  Our last family cat drowned in our fishponds when he tried to reach baby bluetits who were stranded on a lily pad and the mother made so much noise about it she attracted the cats attention.  The bluetits all survived but I was too late to save the cat.
