I'm on a IPad so not much room for finger tips.  I'll get hubby to have a go at it for me. I have been dozing in front of the tele - 10.50pm (too many nights watching cycle race til 2am every night.)  Thanks for your advice.

Actually that's a mini iPad so makes mini mistakes more often. ????

3pm Saturday. I got inspired today after browsing through a GW mag from  May 2013. Mr. T. was writing about how pots can make a lovely display. So I went out and collected the various pots that had sleeping miniature roses in them (and were over wintering in the veg yard). Weeded, pruned, and moved the pots to the morning side of the house to get early sun and protection from our freezing westerlies.  They already look happier.  I feel rather proud of doing that little job, after sitting inside for days, wingeing about the cold weather.

Now that my comedian hubby has pointed out that my IPad is a Mini IPad, people may have some sympathy for my fingers hitting the wrong key from time to time.

Good afternoon pat, I too have a iPad mini, but right now I'm writing from my mobile which is worse for writing ( even smaller). I can't believe Australia is getting snow, does it happen a lot there in winter?

Your pictures are bountiful and such detail too : )

Morning Marion too, I love your paintings too especially the last one lovely colours : )

Hello Flumpy I can't even begin to get my head around using a mobile -this mini iPad is bad enough.  Thanks for your comments about the paintings - I really love plants so it made sense to learn botanical painting when I had the chance some yeare ago.

regarding the snow - it seems to me that this winter is worse - especially with it going all the way to Queensland. I can't remember it ever happening before, but I'm no expert .  Hope you are all enjoying your summer.

Marion, I envy you bring able to go and hear Monty,  hope you enjoy it.

If I wasn't stuck in work for 40 hours a week I would enjoy the summer instead just pray it's sun shining at the weekend, at the moment it's very windy and it's meant to rain later : )

I have been struggling for ages to be allowed to post. I did it eventually by changing my settings to Basic Editor. There is obviously a glitch on the site. Good weather today here in Bristol so should get some gardening done as the weather has stopped the golf at St. Andrews. I have some pics taken yesterday of my friend's tiny garden. The first picture is of his newest buy of Pentas lanceolata. This is new to me but very pretty. Now I find the menu has gone!!!

Still cannot post pictures. At least we are not having the weather St. Andrews is having for the Open. Gale force winds all day and no golf till at least 6, perhaps 7pm! I think there is some rain forecast for tonight in Bristol so will let that do the watering as I went the long walk to the shops today to stock up.

Hi Marion  hope your system is working now.

We've been going through some photos on hubby's computer and so I can now show you some of my summer pics.

The dark coloured sunflowers were from a packet of seeds from my Diggers Club  - called Prado Red.  the sunflower on the hill at the back of the house appeared after we'd moved a bird feeding station to another site. It was very tall and ended up having flowers all the way down the stem. The birds loved it  and at one stage, I caught a kangaroo pulling it down and having a feast. We had to put a metal stake in to keep it upright. The Rose is called Carpet Rose Amber.  It has a lovely range of colours from deep orange buds to peachy pink full flowers.

Feeling rather sleepy today, I think the late nights have caught up with me.

It was a lovely sunny morning so I took the covers off the vegetables, then we went into town (in need of blowing off cobwebs after spending days inside because of the cold) and then almost forgot to put the covers back on.  This afternoon it is very cold with lots of wind blowing things around. The TV news was full of shots of people on the outskirts of Sydney throwing snowballs and cars skidding everywhere. The main highway between Sydney and Melbourne was closed - don't know how long for.

In the morning, I transplanted some lettuce, that had self seeded, into a tub and put in the greenhouse to get them settled. Also once again pulled up the plastic end of the greenhouse which slips down when the wind is from the south (our cold end).

I' what decided to try to get on to the 'hello forkers' thread, but I haven't quite worked out how to get to the latest entry and there are literally thousands of comments. I'll keep at it.  I'd still like to keep in touch with your site though and maybe some of the others - I find them very interesting.  Catch you later.
