Warm working but cooler in my spinney which is really very lush at the moment. New plants all doing well and mid season and late tulips beginning to open their buds. The oodles of wall flower I have are smelling delightful in the heat.
TY Verdun. Lovely gardening day in Bristol today so my new sempervivums have all been given a good home and the green wheeliebin is full up ready to be emptied tomorrow morning.
Another good day for gardening but must not overdo things as it is the AGS AGM tonight . But I do want to get as much done in the garden as I can while the weather is good as things are moving on the energy saving front. I had a call from the contractors appointed by Warm Up Bristol yesterday who are to install my new Combi boiler and the engineer is coming to measure up next Wednesday. No rain on the horizon for next week so shall keep an eye on newly planted stuff in case they need watering.
Tour of inspection revealed potatoes above ground. Masses of flowers on all three vatieties of blackcurrants and red currants. Pear blossom fully out joining the plum and apple blossom just breaking.
Oh my goodness my friend's tulips match his election candidate's poster! And the "Queen of the Night" tulips I planted up for his birthday in January have flowered.
Ho I'm loving your friends tulips lovely deep colours, i will take photos of mine tomorrow, can't wait to get going in the garden again, weather looks ok this weekend too, what are you upto this weekend Marion? And did you watch gardeners world?
No GW for me tonight yet flumpy as it was the AGM of the Bristol group of the Alpine Garden Society tonight. Will catch up on Iplayer tomorrow. My son and his partner came to supper and brought me a huge pile of terracotta pots, some very large which I will fill with osteospermums. Some of the manure will be trundled up to the potager too. One of the members got a second prize in a flower show with one of my plants I had taken to the raffle! It is good to know they go to good homes where they are treasured.

My lady from the country has just brought me 20 bags of well rotted horse manure - a job for my new wheelbarrow!
Lovely tulips Marion.
