    Thanks David.

So, given that there's a little moisture still in the pot, I'll leave it for a day or two.

  • I can't really work that out for you, ommthree....but initially, I would say they would not be harmed by not watering.

For what it's worth, here in the Midlands we don't have frost forecast during the next week, so I would, if necessary water them....remember, there not supposed to be growing, so require very little of anything.

  • I've started keeping my loo roll tubes.......with a husband and 2 boys plus the ones from work I should have quite a collection on 8 weeks imageimage Lovely strong rooted sweet peas with a bit of luck.

SL - did the loo rolls work for you last year? Mine went very mouldy. I may have over watered them - I tend to mollycoddle any plants I haveimage

  • I didn't use them last year Allium, I made pots out of newspaper and one of those pot making thingies!  They went a bit mouldy and floppy but decomposed well in the soil. I got 'told off' last year for mollycoddling my sweet pea seedlings.......I'm going to be a tough SP mummy this year ha ha! image

Ah, okay. Be interesting to see how it works out SL. Plastic pots for me - at least they can't go mouldy on me !!

  • I'm not very good at handling seedlings and transplanting them so I am hoping I will get a better survival rate in loo rolls, plus I'm on a strict budget as I have given up my job now.

  • ...not very pretty, I know, but this mould does no harm to the plants.
