Hi all, got the rest of the sweetcorn in (doing baby ones too)!! Also planted more strawberries and the courgettes went in as they were getting bigimage  Now I am running out of space!!

Had an offer of a load of garden compost, so will try and get that at the weekend if I have time.

    Enjoy your weekendimage

BizzieB your plot is looking good, great that you uncovered an extra bit, not seen your plot from the other way thought you could drive up to it but defiantly not, do like the way everyone's allotment plots are different

GWRS will do - hope it will be ok and most of the glass will be in one piece

Been to the allotment dug another half metre and cleared the grass of the next half metre hand bit sore was a tough bit of ground, lots of rubbish in there and loads of bits of glass - sorted out area in garden where greenhouse in bits will go - till we clear the plot for it

Had an offer from someone on the allotment as they asked the council for a strimmer he wants to help strim the plot  that is great

Thanks Gardengirl, image I'm in awe at the speed with which you have transformed your plot. Where do you get your energy from...

I'm remembering all your work with those pallets and the station garden. Your posts leave me in a spin!! image

Although it isn't clear just in front of that narrow lighter strip (peas under cover) is a wide pathway running from the left ( where entrance gate and  first car park is) , then along past my plot to a second car park.

Up at each side are wide grass tracks and along at the back by the far trees. Not for cars though as churns up the grass. So I can  drop anything heavy, go on to the second cp or turn back to first cp. Very convenient.

I'll take more photos on the next visit, it's good to have a wander around.

Only did a flying visit last night, had to squeeze in clipping my dogs and watching Chelsea G S on TV.image

I had emailed tree surgeons again for more wood chip, as Chinese people wanted some and my new friend Jo, who's plot is next door but one. They had dumped another load off for us, so took a barrow load for my paths, its amazing how quick it breaks down.  If I get time over the weekend, I will do the paths properly and put down some barrier cloth.image

Ginagibbs , I have shredded material for my paths but I have not bothered with a barrier cloth but I do use " path clear " weed clear and it had worked really well

Have to cut the lawns at home didn't want to do it at A image

Been to the allotment today finished digging the half metre and shuffling the grass and dirt, dug and mounded the next load of dirt/ grass/ weeds from top of soil ready for Sunday - which means we will have made it when dug to the whole 12 metres across

BizzieB - energy really wanted to get to the end of the row   want to have pallet bits on the allotment plot, the station does need attention not been there for the last week - opps

Morning everyone  image looks to be a hot day so plan A is to go to allotment within the hour to prepare a bed for the rapidly growing fennel, renew the netting over the peas (need a higher cane frame) and make a proper path between the small beds.

Plan B to strim grass and water everything in this evening and remember to take photos image

     netting being replaced

The soil still looks heavy but planted all in well manured soil to give a good start.

Other beds prepared, now to make pigeon-proof frames!
