I got mine on the chicken plot from ebay- another allotmenter across the city was selling it. I think we paid something like £25 for it

Speaking of sheds, at the other site where the lady behind my plot suddenly showed up and started being funny to other people about getting her half of the stone shed- she seems to be working a different plot now *scratches head* I ain't got a clue what that's all about! *scratches head some more*

Hi All. Only got to see 1st and last of the Chelsea Design programme, it was on at an awkward time for me so will watch on catch up. Had a quick session at the plot last night re potting tomatoes and doing some weeding before rushing back to watch Monty!!image

Nice that you have good people to help Stagbeetle.image

Garden Girl you could try Freeads on line for a shed or Gumtree. Our sheds were provided by the council but you have to pay £12 a year rent.

Dont know what to think of your predicament Fruitcake, is the shed rented too, can you not ask your allotment officer whats going on?

Gardengirl , sheds I did splash out and have a new one and got the company to put it up , I am not really into DIY that much , a local firm in Lincolnshire did it

I did prepare the surface , menbrane , slabs and gravel plus I put chicken wire around the bottom to stop rats and mice from living underneath

It was a great investment , better to have a slopping roof rather than apex as there is more room , hopefully if maintained will out live me image

I have also been looking on gumtree for a greenhouse cheap or free

did look up pallet shed but not sure about that looks hard to construct

Fruitcake is she near your plot?  I seem to be scratching my head - maybe she wanted different location or plot size

A serious catch up on the allotment after the vagaries of the weather and family comittments. An early start yesterday included clearing a big patch of nettles at the back of the plot, uncovered currant bushes image and strimmed paths.

Raspberries, strawberries and gooseberries looking healthy. Compost bin in place and area levelled for shed, getting boards for bed edgings in place, veg potted on or sown.

BizzieB , are you putting the shed up yourself ? Plot tidying looks like going well

Spent yesterday at allotment , lots of jobs as ever , redug another bed for planting

harvested Rhurbarb , spring onions , kol rabi and fennel

O/H is going to have a go at rhubarb vodka image

Mmmmmm...Rhubarb vodka, all round to your place then GWRSimage

Did you get your greenhouse Garden Girl?? Buzzie, you can use nettles for making nettle tea for your plants. I have some brewing at the back of the shed (stinky, but it works well as a fertilizer)

Went up yesterday evening and finished digging the last bit near the paths. Planted all my sweetcorn, its grown already! Chinese people have made a lot of progress in the last few days, 90% of their plot is now cultivated and he has even cut down all the long grass, so looks like I wont be getting any of their space. Never mind!!image
